Heidi Dodenberg recieved one of six national nurses awards
PRINCE GEORGE BC- Heidi Dodenberg, a senior lab instructor at UNBC was one of six recipients to be awarded the 2025 CASN Excellence in Nursing Education Award for Simulation, Lab and Clinical Teaching.
This prestigious award comes in true for Dodenberg as she has been teaching at UNBC since 2014 and knows the importance of simulation within nursing education so that upcoming students can foster their learning with real scenarios shown through simulation techniques.
“Simulation has become a big piece of how we learn what we do as nurses, it’s an opportunity for us to work in a safe space, make mistakes and to learn something new and practice our skills” With instructors working alongside students, self direction is present but teamwork shines through as each and every nursing student has their own educational path, but with instructors like Dodenberg, students are set up for success within their healthcare careers.
