After decades of service, Carefree Society winding up operations

PRINCE GEORGE — After more than 50 years of service, the Carefree Society is winding up its operations this month.

The Society spent decades supporting accessible transportation and inclusive communities in Prince George and the surrounding region.

The organization says this decision follows thoughtful review of the Society’s sustainability and long-term direction.

As part of this process, the society is selling its building and other remaining assets – the proceeds of which will be directed to a qualified donee, with the intention of continuing Carefree’s legacy of advancing accessibility.
