New billboards spur search

A new highway billboard now shows Kira’s photo, part of the family’s effort to keep her story in the public eye. They say they have already handed out thousands of posters across British Columbia, Alberta, and even up to the Alaska border.

“I don’t want her to be forgotten,” Ramsey said. “We need people to look and remember while they’re driving.”

This effort comes from a place of deep personal loss. Ramsey describes her daughter as loving, energetic, and unforgettable.

“She had a big heart. She loved everybody so much. She would give the jacket off her back for anybody,” she said.

Family members say the community’s response has been overwhelming. Local businesses have donated supplies and money. Volunteers have helped print and put up flyers. Online groups have reached thousands of people through views and shares.

Amy Martin, Kira’s aunt, says the support has made a difference.

“I’m absolutely touched by the community. There are people out there with big hearts who want to help,” Martin said. “We’re not going to stop. It will be a continual thing that we do, looking for her.”

The campaign now uses QR codes on posters that link to online information. Fundraising is also underway to support additional awareness efforts, such as more billboards and possibly bus ads.

Martin says the message is simple: keep looking and speak up.

“Even if you think it’s not important, if you know something, say something,” she said. “She needs to be home with her family.”

Police are still asking anyone with information to contact Prince George RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

“We will not stop looking for you until we find you,” Ramsey said. “We all love you, and we are waiting for you to come home.”
