Watch party takes in World Cup match

PRINCE GEORGE – This week, soccer fans in Prince George came together to support Team Canada at the city’s first World Cup watch party, which turned out to be a big success.

About 100 people showed up to watch Canada play Qatar. Organizers set up a big screen at the Prince George men’s soccer field so everyone could enjoy the game in Vancouver. Fans brought lawn chairs and Canadian flags, making the atmosphere lively as they cheered for the national team.

Organizers say the great turnout shows that more people in the community are getting interested in soccer. They are hopeful this excitement will continue, and the next watch party is already planned for July at Canada Games Plaza.
