PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP say a drug investigation has led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, firearms and cash following the execution of a search warrant at a local business.

In the early morning hours of July 24, frontline officers carried out a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a business located on the 1800-block of Quinn Street. During the search, police discovered and seized several firearms, various types of ammunition, more than 80 grams of suspected cocaine, and nearly $10,000 in cash.

Two individuals were arrested during the operation. However, both were later released without process while investigators continue examining the evidence collected during the search. Any potential charges will be subject to further analysis of the seized items and approval by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

Prince George RCMP Media Relations Officer Corporal Jennifer Cooper credited frontline officers for their work on the case.

“This investigation is the result of the hard work and dedication of our frontline police officers, who undertake these complex CDSA files while still responding to 9-1-1 calls and processing information from other ongoing investigations throughout their shift,” Cooper said in a statement.

Police say the investigation remains active and no charges have been announced at this time. Additional details may be released as the investigation progresses and charge approval decisions are made.
