Pedestrian seriously injured after Hart Highway collision
PRINCE GEORGE — A pedestrian remains in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on the Hart Highway, and Prince George RCMP are asking the public for help as the investigation continues.
Police say the incident happened shortly before 12:30 a.m. on August 9 in the northbound lane of the 1700-block of the Hart Highway. The victim, a man wearing a reddish-coloured hoodie, dark pants and carrying a red backpack, was struck by a vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
The crash prompted the closure of the highway’s northbound lanes for several hours while investigators examined the scene and interviewed witnesses. Traffic was diverted along North Nechako Road during the investigation.
RCMP are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has dash camera footage from the area around the time of the incident.
