Back-To-School Shot Reminder
PRINCE GEORGE – As students return to classrooms across Northern B.C., Northern Health is encouraging parents to make sure their children’s immunizations are up to date.
Medical Health Officer Dr. Robert McDermott says the start of a new school year is one of the most important times to review vaccination records, as children begin spending more time together in close-contact settings.
“As we come back to school, we’re going to see a lot of socialization, a lot more contact between kids. And most importantly, we know that immunizations are safe and effective in preventing communicable disease. Some of these are serious, serious diseases. And we want to make sure that we protect our kids as best we can,” said McDermott.
