Every B.C. Conservative legislator gets shadow portfolio after defections
VICTORIA — British Columbia’s Opposition Conservatives have unveiled a new shadow cabinet under leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay after a spate of defections, with all 28 of the party’s remaining legislators receiving a portfolio.
The new shadow cabinet also includes Findlay taking on the portfolio of land and property as she campaigns for a seat in the legislature in a byelection in Abbotsford-Mission this month.
Nine MLAs have quit the Conservative caucus in recent weeks, including prominent figures in the previous shadow cabinet.
Gavin Dew remains in the finance portfolio vacated by defector Peter Milobar last month, while former interim leader Trevor Halford takes on transit.
