Spruce Kings fall to Chiefs 5-2 as BCHL pre-season winds down

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings dropped their second exhibition game as the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) pre-season winds down. 

The Spruce Kings fell to the Chilliwack Chiefs at home 5-2 Friday (Sept. 11). 

Trailing 2-0 after the first period, Swiss forward Noah Franzina scored his first goal of the pre-season early in the second period to get the Spruce Kings back within one. 

However, the Chiefs scored three unanswered goals in the backend of the middle frame to take a 5-1 lead heading into the third period. Forward Adam Crosby scored the Spruce Kings’ second goal halfway through the third period. Goaltender Ryder Green made 24 saves.
