Cougars add experience in goal ahead of season opener
PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars have bolstered their goaltending depth just days before opening the 2026-27 Western Hockey League season.
Cougars General Manager and Head Coach Mark Lamb announced Monday the team has acquired 18-year-old goaltender Peyton Shore from the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2027 WHL Prospects Draft.
The six-foot-two, 184-pound netminder spent the past two seasons with the Rebels, appearing in 38 games and recording 11 victories. Shore posted a 7-7-1 record during his rookie season in 2024-25 and suited up for 19 games last season.
“We were looking at adding some experience for our goaltending and Peyton came available,” said Lamb in a statement.
