Attic fire causes $40,000 damage on 1st Avenue

PRINCE GEORGE —Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a house fire in the 4800 block of 1st Avenue Sunday evening (Sept.20).

Crews from three fire halls were called out just before 5:40 p.m. after reports of a possible structure fire.

Firefighters found smoke coming from the home’s gable ends and located the blaze in the attic. The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the area of origin.

No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $40,000, and the cause remains under investigation.
