Levshyn’s time in net came to an end for the night when the Thunderbirds pulled ahead to 5-0, with Peyton Shore entering the game.

Just 10 seconds later, Thunderbirds right winger Antonio Martorana scored a goal on a breakaway, prompting Cougars head coach Mark Lamb to call a timeout.

The Thunderbirds added two more points to the scoreboard in the third period to secure the 8-0 shutout.

The Cougars fell to 1-2-0-0 and will look to earn a weekend split Sunday afternoon (Sept. 27) against the Vancouver Giants.
