Seniors highlight challenges on National Seniors Day
PRINCE GEORGE – National Seniors Day was marked in Prince George with a dual focus on advocacy and innovation, as local organizations highlighted both the challenges facing older adults and emerging solutions designed to help them age well in northern communities.
The Council of Seniors used the occasion to draw attention to several pressing issues affecting the region’s growing senior population, including affordable housing, food security, access to family doctors, accessibility and transportation.
Council representatives said these concerns have become increasingly important as the number of seniors continues to grow across northern British Columbia.
