B.C. Conservatives hold lead as election enters final days, Mainstreet poll suggests
PRINCE GEORGE —With just days remaining before British Columbians head to the polls, a new Mainstreet Research survey suggests the B.C. Conservatives have opened up an advantage over the NDP, while affordability continues to dominate voters’ concerns.
The poll places the Conservatives at 41.7 per cent support among decided voters, compared with 36 per cent for the NDP. The B.C. Greens sit at 14.6 per cent.
Mainstreet Research president Quito Maggi says the Conservative advantage appears even more pronounced in Prince George and much of the Interior, where the party has been looking to capitalize on support outside the Lower Mainland.
Despite the favourable polling numbers, Conservative Prince George-Mackenzie candidate Kiel Giddens says they are not changing how he approaches the final days of the campaign.
