PRINCE GEORGE — The men’s and women’s UNBC Timberwolves opened their Canada West basketball seasons against the TRU WolfPack on Saturday (Oct. 24), with both teams coming up short at the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre.

The women’s Timberwolves showed plenty of resilience but ultimately fell 69-61, despite mounting a strong fourth-quarter comeback.

The men’s Timberwolves battled throughout their matchup, but dropped an 84-71 decision to the WolfPack.

The Timberwolves will return to action next weekend when they head to the UBC Okanagan Gymnasium to take on the Heat. The women’s game is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 30), followed by the men’s game at 7 p.m.
