B.C. Greens vow strong opposition role as smaller parties reflect on election results
PRINCE GEORGE — While the B.C. Conservatives celebrated their majority victory on election night, B.C. Greens Leader Emily Lowan struck a determined tone, telling supporters her party is prepared to play a significant role in holding the new government accountable.
Speaking to supporters after the results became clear, Lowan acknowledged the Greens will have a small caucus in the legislature but argued that comes with a major responsibility.
“We may have a small caucus, but tonight we have inherited an enormous responsibility, and that is to hold a majority Conservative government to account,” Lowan said.
