Paddlers near end of cross-Canada journey
PRINCE GEORGE – Three friends paddling and walking across Canada say their journey is helping raise money for northern and remote Indigenous communities.
Georges Kirijian, Nolan Aziz, and Will Vyse started the Canada by Canoe expedition in Quebec on April 11. They plan to finish at Spanish Banks Beach in Vancouver, aiming to arrive around noon on November 14.
The team says they are trying to complete the longest single-season canoe journey ever recorded. The route is about 8,000 kilometres long, crosses six provinces, and has taken over 200 days.
