Hockey marathon to raise funds for cancer care in Northern B.C.
PRINCE GEORGE — A new community fundraising event is set to hit the ice this winter, bringing together hockey players, families and supporters from across Northern British Columbia in support of local cancer care.
A dedicated group of volunteers is launching Pucks for a Purpose: 24 Hours of Remembrance and Hope, a 24-hour hockey marathon aimed at raising money for oncology equipment and patient care initiatives through the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.
The event will see participants take to the ice for 24 consecutive hours, united by a shared goal of improving access to cancer care closer to home for Northern B.C. residents.
