Air quality warning in effect for Vanderhoof area
VANDERHOOF, B.C. — Residents in the Fraser Lake and Vanderhoof area are asked to postpone or reduce strenuous activities.
Environment Canada issued an air quality warning for the Stuart – Nechako region just before midnight Monday (Nov. 2) due to elevated fine particulate matter.
The weather agency says exposure to fine particulate matter is particularly a concern for infants, older adults, pregnant people and people with chronic conditions such as asthma or heart disease, or respiratory infections.
“Spend time indoors in a space with filtered air. Monitor your symptoms and seek prompt medical attention if needed,” Environment Canada states.
