Students Involved In Crash Returning Home Today
PRINCE GEORGE – BC RCMP are sharing more details regarding the College Heights girls volleyball team that was involved in a passenger van crash on Highway 97 north of Cache Creek on Tuesday.
According to RCMP, Ashcroft police received a call around noon of a single vehicle crash of a van carrying 16 to 17-year-old girls, that veered to avoid an obstruction on the highway.
Causing the drive to over correct and the van went into the ditch. Four people were taken to Kamloops hospital with non-life threating injuries, the team coach was travelling in a separate vehicle and took charge of the remaining students at the scene.
Superintendent of School District 57 Marilyn Marquis-Forster says as of 8:30 Tuesday evening all those involved in the crash were assessed, treated and released from the hospital and opted to drive home Wednesday morning.
