13 Prince George participants off to Canada Winter Games

The Canada Winter Games get underway on Friday in Red Deer with the Opening Ceremonies. The games will run February 15th to March 3rd and will feature 13 Prince George products in total. The list of nine athletes includes Wheelchair basketball player Joel Ewert, who represented BC at the last games and is heavily involved with provincial tournaments and in town with the PG Lumberjacks. 4 speed skaters are also lacing them up. Craig Miller, Keanan St. Rose, Kieran Hanson, and Eric Orlowski will all be skating this time around, with Lorelei St. Rose and Duane Swan coaching and managing as well. Other participants include Kimiko Kamstra and Lochlan Young from the Hart Judo Academy, snowboarder Colby Graham, Alpine Skiier Charlotte Gibson, and Cougars associate coach Steve O’Rourke, who is head coach of the men’s hockey team. Local referee Danika Kroeker also joins the group, set to referee hockey.
