Last Advanced Poll Today
Just a reminder, today is the final advanced poll for the City’s referendum. The City is hoping to borrow $15 million to replace Fire Hall #1 downtown. The current facility was built inn 1956 and was recently deemed inadequate to serve modern fire fighting standards. If approved, it would be relocated at Massey Drive adjacent to the YMCA of Northern BC.
The City is also asking the public’s approval to build $35 million to build a replacement for the Four Seasons Pool. That facility was built in 1970 and is beginning to show signs of wear. The City says it will cost $10 million simply to maintain standards.
The last advanced poll is located in the annex behind City Hall and will remain open until 8 p.m. If you do venture to the poll, make sure to bring two pieces of identification, including one that specifies your current address.
General voting day is Saturday, October 28th. Those polls are also open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The same identification rules apply. Those polls are located at:
* John McInnis Centre
* DP Todd Secondary School
* Kelly Road Secondary School

* Malaspina Elementary School
* Ron Brent Elementary School
* Vanway Elementary School
* Blackburn Elementary School
