Experiences From Northern Camp Wives

PRINCE GEORGE- A former UNBC student is presenting her thesis this evening at the Prince George Public Library. Northern BC Camp Wives shares the experiences of women with young children while their spouse is away for work. Karla Bloomfield will present her findings, as well as some of the challenges these families face, and recommendations for possible solutions.”What really sticks out is the resilience of these women, the strength that they had to maintain not only themselves and their children, but their husbands and this lifestyle,” said Bloomfield. “50% of the respondents were not from Northern BC, so just really encouraging those women not to isolate themselves at home, and to get the support they need.” The presentation starts at 7.
