Hart Highlands Area Sees High Water Pressure

PRINCE GEORGE — A number of homeowners in the Sadler Drive area of Hart Highlands are experiencing high water pressure.

The problems began in the fall after the City installed its new water main. Erik Madsen with Fraser Plumbing and Heating says since the Sadler area is the end of the water line,  pressure typically tends to be higher. Normal water pressure sits at about 60 to 75 psi, while some Sadler homes are seeing pressure of about 125 psi.

High water pressure can blow hot water tanks, sprinkler systems and faucets and local plumbers recommend homeowners get pressure regulator valves installed. PRV’s cost about two to three hundred dollars but could save homeowners with high water pressure, thousands of dollars.

Madsen says signs of high water pressure can include a clunking when you turn a faucet on and a heavy spray. He goes on to say the Hart Highlands area is not the only area to see high water pressure in the city.
