A special head shaving ceremony was held at Cedars Christian School today.
The school set out to raise $1,500 through its annual Terry Fox run, but students managed to raise almost $4,300! Last year, Cedars students raised just over $700, meaning a 600% increase this year.
In celebration of the accomplishment, Principal Curtis Tuininga had his head shaved this afternoon.
18 years ago, Tuininga was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Being a cancer survivor himself, raising money for research holds a special meaning for him.
