Fort St. James Bans Recreational Pot Sales & Growth… Temporarily

FORT ST. JAMES – Some Fort St. James residents were worried earlier this month over a proposed bylaw banning the sale and production of marijuana once it is legalized.
District Council has now decided to go ahead with a rewritten bylaw. This means that all sale, production, and distribution of commercial cannabis in the district of Fort St. James is prohibited.
However, Council has added a sunset clause, which will cancel the bylaw September 30th, 2018. It says the move will allow Council time to understand provincial guidelines concerning recreational marijuana.
