PRINCE GEORGE – The Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, on behalf of its generous donors, presented Northern Health with a Spring Grant today.

The grant totals just under $710,000 and will go towards equipment, education and further enhancements throughout the region. Combined with the autumn grant, the total funds presented to Northern Health and other related partnerships total near $1.3 million.

Equipment includes an otoacoustic emission system, constellation vision system, OT pressure mapping system, cardiac pacemaker monitors, entering feeding pumps, bone density measurement machine and the peripheral equipment for the new breast health imaging centre at UHNBC in Prince George; automated medication dispensing unit, acute hospital and IPT furniture in Mackenzie; hemodialysis transonic monitor in Fort St. John; and cancer care pumps and syringes in Fraser Lake.

“Spirit of the North is grateful to our many donors who so generously provide funds to better health outcomes in the region. The funds are graciously received through our sustainable supporters, sponsors, and those who support the events that are hosted as part of the Spirit’s community giving. Through these donations we are able to support Northern Health, other specialized healthcare agencies, and the education of healthcare workers,” said Judy Neiser, CEO for Spirit of the North. “We could not do this without such tremendous support – we are truly thankful.”
