Police Report Pair of Suspected Abduction Attempts

PRINCE GOERGE – Prince George Mounties are investigating a pair of incidents in the Hart, which involved someone in a white van trying to coerce school-aged children into their vehicle. 

The first suspected abduction attempt took place June 1st around 8:00 am near a school bus stop on Louis Drive. RCMP say a 9-year-old boy was approached by two men, including one with a beard.  They told the boy they had broken their keys and required his help.  Luckily, the boy ran away to safety.  Police have released a description of the two suspects.  The first suspect is described as Caucasian, about 6’00” tall with short blonde hair and a long blonde beard.  He was wearing a grey ball cap and a blue hoodie.  Police believe he is about 30 years old.  The second suspect is believed to have Indigenous heritage, with long black braided hair.  He is about 5′ 10″ tall and has was wearing a blue t-shirt.  The van is described as an old van with no rear windows and rusted tire rims.

The second suspected abduction attempt occurred Tuesday morning around 10:00 am near Heather Park school.  Police say a pair of teenaged boys were approached by a bearded man who asked the boys to help him find his keys which he had lost in the van.  The van described in this incident is also white.  The teenagers ran away and were unharmed.  The suspect is described as a man with a deep loud voice, a beard and shoulder length brown hair.  He was wearing a green and red plaid shirt.  Police also looking to track down the teens involved in this incident.

While police look into the incidents, they’re reminding the public that it is not appropriate to approach school-aged children not known to you.
