PRINCE GEORGE – Even if you wear a helmet if it’s not properly fitted you’re in danger of some major injuries according to Christine Smith from the PG Brain Injured Group. The PG Brain Injured Group is being fundraised for by the Canadian Royal Purple this afternoon. The Bike Parade, located on 3rd and Wainwright, allows kids to show off their skills as well as be fitted with a helmet.

Smith advises that the helmet should be within two finger widths from your eyebrows, have a tight V strap around your ears, and strap along one finger width below your chin.

“You have to protect your head. Like if you crash there are serious consequences. You know you can get a serious concussion, your life can change in one moment,” says Smith.

10-year-old Kaydence Shelke and 8-year-old Korbin Shelke got their helmets fitted by Smith before taking off in the parade which began at 10:30 am.
