FORT ST. JOHN – RCMP continue to investigate after a man was convicted in a 1994 sexual assault case.

In late March of this year, Grande Prairie resident, Randolph Byron Dunlop, 60, was found guilty of sexual assault with a weapon, break and enter to commit an offence and forcible confinement. He received an 8-year prison sentence.

It was through DNA evidence that police were able to link Dunlop to the crime. He was arrested at his Alberta home in 2014. He was known to have worked in the Fort St. John area during the 1990s.

Investigators are now working with police in Alberta to see if Dunlop is connected to other unsolved cases.
