Police Look To Crack Jack Family Cold Case

PRINCE GEORGE – It’s been 29 years since the Jack Family went missing from Prince George and RCMP haven’t given up their effort on cracking the case.  Ronnie, Doreen and their children Russell and Ryan were last heard from August 2nd, 1989.

Police are hoping to make contact with an anonymous individual who provided them with information through a third party previously.  They say the individual contacted the third party by phone and then by regular mail.

“We would like to speak to this individual in order to gain greater clarity and insight into the information that was provided,” says Staff Sergeant Kent MacNeill, in charge of the Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Section.  “Every bit of information we receive has the potential to further this investigation.”

The last known contact with the family occurred when Ronnie called his mother in the Burns Lake area. He had apparently been offered work which would take he and his family out of town.  It’s believed the family left their home on Strathcona Avenue shortly after that phone call.

RCMP Corporal Craig Douglass says Cpl. Craig Douglass believes there are individuals who know what happened, but remain unwillingly to divulge any details on the mystery.  “Having information about what may have happened to the Jack family must weigh heavy on anyone with it.”

Doreen’s sister Marlene Jack is hopeful the renewed call for information will provide closure to the mystery of what happened to her family.  Jack has set up a Go Fund Me account to raise funds to offer a reward for information on the disappearances.

Anyone with information can contact the Prince George RCMP at (250) 561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 222-8477 or online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca.
