PRINCE GEORGE – Carney Hill Neighbourhood Centre Society has been awarded a grant by the United Way of Northern BC. A grant of $3,500 will go towards the Society’s Latch Key Kids and Food Literacy Program.

The program is a weekly session at the Hadih House that teaches children ages 8 to 13 and their families, food skills and food literacy. It’s built for families living in poverty and the kids are given ingredients to take home with them. Each semester, there are six to 10 families that are enrolled in the program. The Society also provides 112 child care spaces within Nusdeh Yoh Elementary School.
