Public Input On Proposed Anahim Connector

Oct 4, 2018 | 11:50 AM

VANDERHOOF – The public will be able to provide feedback on a proposed connector road between Vanderhoof and Anahim Lake through email by the end of the month.

The proposed road will allow traffic to travel more directly from Anahim Lake to Highway 16. It will also give a secondary fire-exit route for First Nations communities and rural residents.

It’ll start about 55 kilometres north of Anahim Lake at the end of Dean River Road, pass near Eliguk Lake and connect to the end of the Kluskus Forest Service Road.

Aside from the public, the Province will consult with First Nations and stakeholders, along with environmental, heritage and recreation reviews before starting construction.
