Up And Coming Entrepreneurs Awarded

VANCOUVER – Five up and coming entrepreneurs were awarded Thursday at the fourth annual ThriveNorth Business Challenge in Fort St. John. The northeast winners received a cut of $35,000 from the challenge to support their business goals. 

Entrepreneurs aged 18-29 years old for Best New Business was Holly-Anne Ritchie & Shay Bergunder from BowTie in Dawson Creek who received $10,000. 

Entrepreneurs aged 29-39 years old for Best New Business was Stephen Beard from Beard’s Brewing Company in Fort St. John who received $10,000. 

Entrepreneurs aged 18-39 years old for Best Growth Opportunity was Jessie Taylor from Mama G’s Country Kitchen in Chetwynd who received $10,000. 

For the People’s Choice Award, Axel Whalen from Tiny Life Supply in Smithers received $5,000. 

“There were so many incredible finalists this year who were able to develop their skills throughout this process,” said Karen Greve Young, CEO of Futurpreneur Canada. “The funding the winning entrepreneurs received will help them build and grow their businesses, in turn helping their local communities to thrive.”
