Apples + Wine = Bear Education

PRINCE GEORGE – The four-year partnership between the Northern Bear Awareness and Northern Lights Estate Winery has once helped remove thousands of pounds apples from the city.
Each year several bears are killed because they can pose a threat to the public. The winery and bear aware developed a plan to make our community safer by removing bear attractants. The apples collected by the winery are made into apple wine. Some of the funds from the sale of the wine is then donated to Northern Bear Awareness Society, which goes toward educating the public on how to live in a community with bears. This year Northern Bear Awareness received a $4000  donation from the Northern Lights Estate Winery.
