Open Houses For Groundwater-Licence Coming To Northern BC

PRINCE GEORGE – A series of open houses are taking place later this month to help explain the groundwater-licence application process. The deadline to submit applications is March 1, 2019. 

Three will occur in northeastern BC at Northern Lights College in Fort St. John on October 23rd, Dawson Creek on October 24th and Fort Nelson on October 25th. The open houses are from noon to 3 pm and 4-7 pm at the college. To attend one of the open houses, RSVP to AuthorizingAgency.FortStJohn@gov.bc.ca. Questions will be answered by staff from FrontCounter BC and water allocation staff. Drop-ins are also welcome to attend. People can also call FrontCounter BC in Fort St. John at 250-787-3415. 

Three open houses will take place in the Skeena region starting with Burns Lake at Lakes District Secondary School on October 23rd from 4-7 pm, Smithers at Nora Building on October 24th from 4-7 pm and Terrace at Caledonia Secondary School on October 25th from 4-7 pm. RSVP to fcbcsmithers@gov.bc.ca if you wish to attend. Drop-ins are also welcome to attend. People can call FrontCounter BC in Smithers at 250-847-7260 if they’re unable to attend.  

A groundwater licence protects water users during droughts and helps ensure the sustainable management of local water resources.
