A busy day for the Spruce Kings organization. After a quiet one game weekend, where a Dustin Manz hat trick lifted the Kings over the Nanaimo Clippers 5-3, the team’s making some headlines today. They’ve acquired a future teammate of Mr. Manz, in Michigan-born forward Spencer DenBeste from the NAHL’s Springfield Jr. Blues for future considerations. The 19-year-old is committed to Lake Superior State University, where he and Manz will both be next season. On top of that, the team’s goaltender Logan Neaton announced Monday his commitment to the University of Massachusetts-Lowell River Hawks. Neaton currently leads the lead in wins and goals against average, as well as being second in save percentage and minutes played.
