PRINCE GEORGE — Motorists beware: a winter storm warning is in effect for the Pine Pass.

Environment Canada says 25 to 35 centimetres of snow is expected over the Pine Pass by early Saturday morning.

It adds motorists should consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve noting rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.

The national forecaster has also issued a special weather statement for Prince George with strong wind gusts, reaching as high as 80 kilometres per hour, expected this afternoon.
