PRINCE GEORGE – The flu season is well underway but a recent spike in influenza activity across Northern BC has Northern Health reminding people that it isn’t too late to get immunized against the flu. Shots are still readily available at pharmacies and through your local doctor.

This year marks a return of the H1N1 which has resulted in the tragic loss of three Saskatchewan pre-schoolers. People under the age of 10 and senior citizens are particularly at risk from falling ill with the virus.

To protect you and your loved ones from influenza Northern Health officials recommend getting vaccinated, washing your hands, coughing into your elbow and if you aren’t feeling well staying home to prevent the spread of the virus.
