UNBC Hosts Session on Rehabilitation Sciences
PRINCE GEORGE – High school and undergraduate students are invited to find out more about Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy programs Thursday night at UNBC.
The UBC Masters of Physiotherapy program is hosting the free event, in a bid to get more northern BC students interested in rehabilitation sciences.
“There’s a real need for both OTs and PTs in particular in underserviced areas like the north, so we know that there is about a half to a third of the number of OTs and PTs working and living in northern communities as compared to the Lower Mainland,” said Coordinator of Clinical Education for the UBC Department of Physiotherapy, Robin Roots.
The session includes presentations from physiotherapists and occupational therapists and includes details on the prerequisites students need to qualify for the courses.
