Donation Bin Break-in Sets Back Fundraising

PRINCE GEORGE – A lone thief cut the lock of a bottle donation bin at the PG Return-it Centre this week and that theft has set back fundraising efforts for a local girl battling cancer.

The thief smashed the lock off of the bin before removing the contents. Several bags of bottles intended for fundraising efforts were taken. In addition to the bottles being taken, the donation bin was severely damaged, with the lock mechanism needing significant repairs.

The Return-it Centre has been using the donated bottles to raise money for Kyra Edgson, who is currently at Children’s Hospital battling leukemia. Edgson will be at Children’s for several months and the money from the bottles is supposed to help support her family while they are away from home.
