PRINCE GEORGE — Time to dust off those shovels and snowblowers as a winter storm warning has been issued for Prince George and its surrounding areas.

Environment Canada says this long duration snowstorm will produce 30 to 40 centimetres of snow by Saturday morning.

Areas near and along Highway 16 east of Prince George towards McBride and Highway 97 north of Prince George and up near Tumbler Ridge will see 50 centimetres by Saturday morning.

When the snow stops Saturday, an Arctic air mass is expected to settle in and bring temperatures down to an overnight low of minus 28 Saturday.
