PRINCE GEORGE- CN is investing $345 million to expand and strengthen the rail line in B.C. which will enable growth from all commodity segments, including consumer goods, grain, agricultural,
forest, and energy products.

CN Rail is a big factor in driving the economy, especially here in Prince George and northern BC. Part of the expansion includes replacing roughly 115 miles of rail, including 2.5 miles of double track west of Prince George.

The expansion is also raising concerns for the people of the Miworth community who already have to cross the track three times in certain situations to get to Prince George. The main concern for Miworth is where the double track will be expanded and if it will affect their commute anymore than it already does.

The B.C investment was part of CN’s overall record capital investment of $3.9 billion this year, and over the next two years, CN will have invested $7.4 billion.
