VICTORIA – The B-C government has introduced legislation to eliminate medical service plan premiums as of January 1st of next year. M-S-P is the provincial health insurance program that eligible B-C residents enrol in to receive provincially insured healthcare benefits.
British Columbia is the only Canadian jurisdiction to still charge a monthly healthcare premium. Adrian Dix says eliminating M-S-P premiums will save individuals up to 900 dollars a year and families as much as 18-hundred dollars a year.
