“Disappointment” The Reaction To Greyhound Decision

PRINCE GEORGE — The reaction from Northern officials over the decision from the Passenger Transportation Board to axe Greyhound services as of June 1st is one of disappointment.

“It will have a drastic impact on people in the North and, really, throughout the province,” says Mayor Lyn Hall. “The passenger piece from Greyhound was really instrumental in what we do from a transportation perspective; the movement of people in the North and throughout the Interior.”

But the Regional Chief for the BC Assembly of First Nations had some harsher words about the decision.

“Once again, we’re under-served. Whether it’s doctors or transit systems, it’s the urban versus rural situation where we’re fighting for better service and seems that rural loses again.”
