PRINCE GEORGE – It’s a battle no parents wants to see their child have to endure.

For Randi Dery, 2020 has been a rollercoaster as her son Brody battles through Crohn’s disease and recently diagnosed with stage 3B of Hodgkins Lymphoma.

“This year has been full of ups and downs, but he’s a warrior” says Randi. “The support for us has been overwhelming, the community has been unbelievable.”

At just 9 years old Brody was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, two years later another heartbreaking diagnosis of stage 3B Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

But you would have never guessed it at first glance, Brody fighting all the way through cancer, as trips to Children’s Hospital in Vancouver and the Ronald McDonald House have become regular.

The family took 16 trips to Children’s in 2019 alone, not counting those they’ve had to take this year.

And then throw COVID-19 into the mix, which makes things even more challenging for an immunocompromised Brody.

Brody’s battle has also made life difficult for Brody’s brother Kaleb who has been forced into learning at home and had hanging out with friends canceled to avoid getting his brother sick.

If you want to donate to the family, you can find their facebook page by clicking here for more details.

So far the various fundraising efforts have raised over 16 thousand dollars for Brody and his family.
