Timberwovles Men’s and Women’s Basketball Were Both Defeated by the Regina Cougars

The University of Regina Cougars had some last second heroics to beat the UNBC Timberwolves 80 – 76 in thrilling CIS Men’s basketball action Friday night in Prince George. The Cougars socred with 18 seconds left to pull ahead of the Timberwolves for good.
Brandon Tull lead the visitors with 16 points as the Cougars improved to 4 – 1 on the season. Jovan Leamy came off the Timberwolves bench to lead all scorers with 19 points.  
With the loss, the T-Wolves record falls to 2 and 5. The two clubs meet again tonight at 7.

In women’s place, Regina remained unbeaten with a 88 – 53 win over the Timberwolves. The Cougars had a 14 point lead at the half and never looked back to improve their record to 5 – 0. The T-Wolves are now 2 – 5.  
Candice Goncalves led Regina with 19 points while Madison Landry had 25 for the T-Wolves. UNBC will try to turn the tables when the two meet tonight at 5.
