QUESNEL — Quesnel Council has set the next stage for the development of an inter-connector route that would have Highway 97 heavy traffic diverted from the downtown. It recently got 84% approval from residents who attended two public open houses.

VANCOUVER - Thanks to BC Liquor Store customers, about 52,000 grade 12 students will be celebrating graduation without any alcohol as part of the Support Dry Grad campaign.

The annual event took place over March and $278,158 was raised.

WILLIAMS LAKE - As of noon on Monday, April 23rd, Category 3 open fires will be banned throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre. The ban is a result of fires that burn undetected for a long time underground during this time of year.

WILLIAMS LAKE - With a total of 96 ballots, Angie Delainey won the Area E by-election over the weekend. Her opponent, Melynda Neufeld came up with 60 votes to her name.

Delainey will be sworn in as the new Electoral Area E Director next week.
