Cowboy Ranch To Expand Restaurant Hours

PRINCE GEORGE – Despite concerns from a smattering of neighbours, Council has approved an application by the owners of the Cowboy Ranch on Queensway. The application was to extend the hours of operation for the restaurant by an hour on Fridays and Saturdays to 1 a.m. In order to match the hours of operation for the pub attached to it. The restaurant is 170 seats, while the pub is 80 seats.
One concerned neighbour stated that his family moved into the neighbourhood when there was an 80-seat pub.
“Now those numbers are creeping up again.”
Another neighbour expressed concerns that this is “one step closer to a nightclub.”
There were also concerns about parking at that location.
Three years ago, the applicants were before Council looking for a patio, which generated considerable opposition from the neighbourhood. It was ultimately turned down by the Council of the day.
However, last night Councillors cited the lack of concern from the RCMP, the lack of infractions at that establishment and the neighbours last night saying that the noise concerns did not transpire.
Only Councillor Skakun was opposed to the extended hours.
“I don’t see this as any different than the application three and a half years ago. I won’t support it.”
