Downtown Prince George Wins Big

PRINCE GEORGE — Downtown Prince George has brought home some hardware from the Best of the West Awards in Kelowna.

Downtown Winterfest only passed its second year this past February but won a special events award. Downtown Prince George also won an award of excellence for programming and partnerships and an award of merit for economic and business development. This annual celebration of excellence invites Business Improvement Area to present the projects that have made a measurable difference in their communities.

“It’s definitely inspiring,” says Colleen Van Mook, executive Director For Downtown Prince George. “We’re working so hard for downtown, we’ve got our heads down and it’s really nice to look up and realize what we’re doing is what a lot of communities are doing, but we are actually being recognized for going above and beyond.”

This annual celebration of excellence invites BIA’s to present their projects, initiatives, partnerships, promotions or campaigns that have made a measurable difference in their communities.
